Our

Magazine

Law is not created in a vacuum.

It is an expression of social conditions, political decisions and historical developments.

In this magazine I publish texts and guest articles on social observations, the legal system, legal philosophy and legal history.

It deals with current issues as well as fundamental considerations: the relationship between law and justice, state power and individual freedom, the functioning and failure of social structures in everyday life.

This magazine sees itself as an open space.

Suggestions, questions or inspiration are expressly welcome.

The abolition of voluntary disclosure, or: The end of the line for remorse for sale #7

There are terms that sound like ethical behaviour and insight, but upon closer inspection turn out to be mere mimicry of ethical insight. The self-disclosure that absolves one of punishment, which is currently at the centre of a surprisingly one-sided debate within the framework of the „Action Plan Against Tax Crime,“ undoubtedly falls into this category.

Justice as the Aesthetic of the Future, or: The Final Stop for the Criminalisation of Destitution #6

Last Thursday, a sparsely populated Bundestag voted against the decriminalisation of travelling without a ticket. This means a norm from 1935 lives on, and with it a silent equation that has permeated societies for centuries.
